| Today was the Better Half's birthday. Unfortunately, noone was going to release either of us fro work for that occasion, and plus he had to be present on the weekly meeting. And even got a present form the Biggest Potato in the from of an assignment that, he says is absolutely and positively inmpossible to finish in the given time. Still, the deadline is almost a year in the future, so they will figure something out. He hopes.
Had a nice dinner in the restaraunt, though - really pleasant to just sit and chat for a while without excessive celebrations. With different jobs, different interests (why couldn't I get him to love tennis? Why?) I felt that we were growing distant. I also became an absolute wuss when it comes to alcohol, I must say - only allowed myself one beer. Monkey Boy had cake.
Of course, nothing is ever entirely pleasant in this world, and after we came home mom called and said that sister-girl was taken to the hospital because of the danger of miscarriage. This is already her second stay there - and how many more there will be till September? She's really down, morally. She'll stay there at least for a week, though the immediate danger has passed, it seems.
And I simply couldn't have a post without some tennis shoved in - but Guille Coria won a match today! In the main draw of an ATP event! And he came from a set down against some no-name canadian, and he only hit 7 double faults. Guquel will murder him tomorrow, but a win is a win is a win. Vamos! |
